Membership

This membership is designed to help you willingly commit to the detox process. If you struggle to complete the protocol, it's likely because you're not ready to let go of violent schemas. These schemas represent the ways you rationalize and justify your abusive behaviors. To do this, you need to lie to yourself and lie to others, which is manipulative. Sometimes you will do this consciously, but most of the time, this will operate unconsciously. This means that most of the time, you will deceive yourself and others unintentionally. It is a compulsion that you cannot control.

You won’t truly commit to detox without first being humbled, because, in truth, humility is something you lack. Many people think the way to humble a narcissist is through shame, but this approach is wrong. Shaming or threatening a narcissist to force change is manipulative, abusive, and itself narcissistic. Narcissistic behavior cannot stop narcissism, because violence only leads to more violence. The people closest to you are often the ones who will try to shame you into changing. You may have even found yourself on this website because you felt shamed or threatened into seeking help. However, this cycle of violence needs to be broken, and what they believe are boundaries are not truly boundaries.

You do need to change, but it’s a process, and skipping any steps will only result in a performative change. Performance happens when you try to appear as if you've changed on the surface, but it's not genuine or sustainable. You might temporarily fool those around you, but this isn’t real change. You may even believe that if you simply do what others want, you’re doing the right thing, but you’re not. This, too, is manipulative, and often, people don’t realize they’re asking you to perform rather than truly change.

Thus, you need to experience being humbled in such a way that is not narcissistic. In the membership, you will be humbled, but without abuse.

From Ego-Syntonic to Ego-Dystonic: A Journey Through Humility

The process that cannot be skipped involves transitioning from ego-syntonic thinking to ego-dystonic thinking. Ego-syntonic thinking occurs when you view your narcissistic behaviors as normal and therefore acceptable. To move beyond this mindset, you must first be humbled. On the other side of humility lies ego-dystonic thinking. In this state, you no longer normalize or justify your behaviors as acceptable. You come to fully realize that your narcissistic actions are abnormal and unacceptable. This shift also involves a moral transformation—while in ego-syntonic thinking, you believe your behaviors are morally justifiable, in ego-dystonic thinking, you recognize them as immoral.

What Does Humility in the Membership Process Entail?

The director of the Narcissism Rehabilitation Center humbles you through a process that facilitates self-reflection and guides you from ego-syntonic to ego-dystonic thinking. This humbling is the core of helping you consent to the detox process. The director will challenge any denial or excuses you might have, using empathy, compassion, and a commitment to helping you grow and develop greater integrity and self-awareness. By providing ongoing support, setting clear expectations, and modeling accountable behavior, the director plays a crucial role in helping you transition from justifying your behaviors to recognizing them as unacceptable, ultimately leading you to consent to detox.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Through the Circle platform. This is an online membership where you will be receiving 1:1 private guidance and support. You will be interacting with the director through direct messenger (DM).

  • No, this does not replace therapy nor is this therapy. Therapy is step 3 of the protocol. This membership does not address detox. Detox is completed in step 3 of the protocol, and requires a licensed professional who is certified in EMDR and has been consulted by the director on how to administer the detox process using EMDR.

  • On average, this is a long process. For some, it can take as little as 3-6 months, but for others, it can take 1-2 years, or more, to consent to detox.

  • Yes. You will be educated through audio lectures and articles written online that are accessible through the membership.

  • The membership is a subscription on the Squarespace platform. The price is $150 per month.

  • You will receive unlimited support through direct messenger on the Circle platform.

Any and all support will be provided within 24 hours, but usually, within minutes, as this is a "high-touch" service.

A high-touch service at the Narcissism Rehabilitation Center involves a high level of personal interaction, attention, and support tailored specifically to your journey. The director engages directly and frequently with you, offering personalized guidance and customized solutions that facilitate your transition from ego-syntonic to ego-dystonic thinking. This service provides an intimate, hands-on approach, humbling you as part of the core process, and ensuring that the support you receive is deeply aligned with your unique needs as you move toward consenting to detox.

  • There is no waiting list—you can start at any time and cancel whenever you need to.

It’s normal to start the membership and cancel several times. You might initially sign up impulsively, thinking you can improve quickly, only to realize that the process takes longer than expected, leading you to reconsider the financial commitment.

You might also deeply value the membership but find it financially challenging to continue. That’s okay—life happens.

On the other hand, you may feel deeply understood and recognize that the membership is a worthwhile investment.

  • The main reason you might not be able to sign up for a membership subscription is that the director limits their caseload to a maximum of 25 clients at any given time.

This intentional limit ensures that the high-touch services provided remain uncompromised.

The other reason you may not be able to sign up for membership, is because you do not consent to be humbled by the director. This usually gets expressed through intense hostility or a total absence of participation.

If you fail to participate or become hostile toward the director, you will be informed of the issue. If, after discussing it with the director, you continue to display behaviors that indicate a lack of consent to the process, the director may remove you from the program at her discretion.

When it comes to a lack of participation, there are others who are eager to engage, and these individuals will be given priority on the caseload.

Regarding hostility towards the director, the director will not tolerate abusive behavior. This is a firm boundary within the Center.
