I have revised the definition of narcissism as an addiction to endorphins that is activated through enmeshment.
-
Enmeshment is what happens when you have little to no personal boundaries in your relationships. You can have a relationship with anything. This is not limited to people. Personal boundaries are about maintaining a safe distance from that which is a threat to our sense of self. Our sense of self is represented by our DNA and autobiographical memories. Autobiographical memory is our understanding of ourselves in the past, present, and future. When you are enmeshed, you will lack a true (honest) understanding of yourself.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
In EMDR, we will be repairing your memories. You see, when you were a child, and experienced enmeshment and abandonment from your parents, you dissociated. When you dissociated you were not able to learn from your experience with trauma. In EMDR, you will finally get a chance to make sense of the past and in so doing, be able to stop your cycles of enmeshment little by little.

On average, it takes at least 6 months of weekly sessions or 1 year of bi-weekly sessions of EMDR to start to be able to make progress on the goals of therapy.

You would discuss this with me in therapy and I would help you transition off therapy services as safely as possible. Then when you’re ready, you can either manually cancel your subscription from your portal or I can do it, as a courtesy. It’s up to you. :)

Yes, I can. I currently work with 3 clients who live outside of the U.S.

I terminate therapy if any of my clients strongly advocate for normalizing enmeshment in sessions. I discuss this with my mentees, and if my clients continue to believe that their enmeshment is moral, normal, and healthy, then I terminate the therapeutic alliance either through video or by email.
I also terminate therapy due to a lack of participation. It means that a client pays for services, but fails to attend sessions.
